Discovery Science Center Membership

Purchase an individual or family membership that meets your needs! If you would like to purchase a discounted membership using a teacher/student, military, or senior identification, please send a copy of your unexpired ID to lsmith@shudiscovery.org to receive a promo code you can use at checkout. • Unlimited access to the Science Center, including our interactive galleries, Science on a Sphere, and Special Event days. Media fee for the Henry B. duPont III Planetarium and Science Theater is waived for members with all-access levels!

Membership Types and Levels

Basic Memberships

Basic membership includes general admission to the exhibits, but does not include a media pass. Media passes provide access to special presentations such as planetarium shows and live science demonstrations. With a Basic membership, you will still need to purchase a media pass for each member of your party on each visit when you wish to see special presentations.

All Access Memberships

​All-Access membership includes general admission to the exhibits, plus unlimited media passes for the guests covered by your membership. You do not need to purchase a media pass for anyone who is visiting as part of your All-Access membership.

Individual vs Family

Individual memberships provide membership benefits only to the individual listed on the card. Included with an individual membership, you may bring 1 guest on any given visit (adult or child). Family memberships of all sizes include 4 children as beneficiaries on the membership. No additional guests are covered by a family membership beyond the chosen number of adults and 4 children. Only a family membership provides discounts on children's programming.

What if I want an additional adult guest who can bring my family to Discovery without me?

If there is an adult outside the primary (or secondary, for 2 adult + 4 child memberships) cardholder who may be bringing your family to Discovery*, you may want to purchase a membership card for that person. Examples may include grandparents, older siblings, child care professionals, etc. 

*Note: Additional adults do not add to the total number of adults covered by your membership; rather, they allow another adult access to your membership tier. The adult you added can take your guests to the museum, in place of you. For example, a 1 adult + 4 children membership could add a guest to be eligible to have ONE OF TWO adults able to use the card, but not both at the same time. Only 1 adult per visit will be admitted using the membership, and any additional adults must pay regular admission at entry.
