Students visit the Science Center frequently, and the Discovery Magnet School is our main site for implementation of Discover NASA, a grant-funded program dedicated to the development and implementation of a rocketry curriculum for K-8 classrooms, and a high school-level extracurricular rocketry club. Accessibility & Amenities The Science Center offers a variety of amenities to accommodate a full experience. We believe that accessibility to all of Discovery’s exhibits is a key component of facilitating STEAM exploration! The Discovery Science Center features ADA-compliant accessibility to all of its galleries, including the Henry B. duPont III Planetarium and Science Demo Theater. An elevator to access all 3 levels inside the Science Center, and access ramps outside are available to all guests. Changing stations are located in the restrooms on the Upper and Lower Levels. Private nursing room, family lounge, and an all-gender ADA restroom available on the Lower Level. Certified service animals in uniform are welcome. We encourage guests to bring a bag lunch or check out or concessions area at the front desk, featuring fresh and packaged rotating offerings. A dining court is available with tables and chairs and a lovely view of the ropes course at The Adventure Park. We are happy to accommodate additional needs to the best of our abilities. Our location at 4450 Park Avenue is minutes from the main entrance to Sacred Heart University, and just across the street from the Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course. We also share our campus with the Discovery Interdistrict Magnet School, and the Adventure Park at Discovery. Parking Parking is usually available in the lot directly outside the Science Center entrance. On event days, parking is also available in front of Veteran’s Memorial Park, adjacent to the Discovery Magnet School. From I-91 South/CT-15 South Merge onto CT-15 South via Exit 17 toward East Main Street Take Exit 47 to Park Avenue Take the second exit at the roundabout to Park Avenue The Discovery Science Center is about a mile up the road on the left.
