Birthday Party Policies & Contract

DSCP Party Policies

1. Must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance and up to 6 months in advance

2. Party times:  Saturday and Sunday from 11am-1pm & 2pm-4pm

*For Discovery After Dark: Friday & Saturday Nights 5:30pm-9:30pm

Discovery will provide:

  • Party Host

  • Private party room

  • Paper goods

  • Themed Decorations

  • Admission for your guests for the day

  • Food described in party summary


Parents can provide:

  • Decorations and/or paper goods to add on or to replace ours (can be dropped off ahead of time if you would like-please discuss with Birthday planner)

  • Additional Food & Cake



Things not allowed at Discovery:

  • Pinata

  • Helium Balloons

  • Scatter Confetti/Glitter

  • Fireworks

  • Alcohol


Payment Procedures:

Fees due and payable upon booking party

Reservations will not be held without full payment and receipt of signed contract

All parties are non-refundable

Membership is non-refundable

All food orders are non-refundable and must be placed 2 weeks in advance

Additional fee of $50 for any changes to your party

Additional guests and fees are due at least 2 weeks prior PENDING availability




Other Party Information:

Set-up: Parents may have access to the Party Room for set up 30 minutes prior to the scheduled party reservation.


Party Host Responsibilities: The party host will supply tablecloth, napkins, plates, cups, forks, spoons & decorations.


Additional Guests & Guest Arrival: Plan on having your guests arrive at least 5-10 minutes prior to your party’s scheduled start time. Any additional guests that are not included in the total amount prepaid for in the total # of guest must be paid for at the time of the party.

When guests arrive- The front desk staff will direct guests to the party room. Your Party Guide will assist in greeting your guests in the party room and will take a final head count.


Party Schedule: Your group will assemble in the party room where your Party Guide will direct your chosen party activity & media for the allocated 1st hour of the party. Once your activity is complete, Parents/Chaperones will direct the refreshments portion of the party with assistance from the party host. General admission Discovery is permitted after the party end-time for 11am-1pm parties. For 2pm start time parties, guests are welcome to join us that day at 12pm to enjoy Discovery.

Late arrivals will receive a shortened party.  Please call if you will be more than fifteen minutes late.


Party End-Time: The party room must be cleaned of garbage, food and party decorations, and vacated within 20 minutes after the designated ending time on your confirmation.

Cancellation Policy

If notice is given more than 30 days prior to the date, a full refund or reschedule will be granted.


If notice is given 15-30 days prior to the event:

a)Party can be rescheduled for an upcoming available date at no additional charge.


b) a partial refund will be given, Discovery will reserve the right to withhold 20% of reservation fee. Any food items that had been ordered for party will be refunded 100%.


If notice is given 1 week prior to the event:

a) Party can be rescheduled for a 10% rebooking fee


b) A partial refund will be given, Discovery will reserve the right to withhold 30% of reservation fee.

*Any food items that have been billed to the party will be refunded 100%.


If 48 hour notice is given:

a) Party can be rescheduled for a 25% rebooking fee


b) A partial refund will be given, Discovery reserves the right to withhold 50% of the total booking fee charged (including food/catering).

If a party is cancelled within 24 hours of start time, the Museum reserves the right to withhold 100% of booking fee charged (including food/catering).


In the case of inclement weather where safe travel is hindered & Discovery is notified of intent to cancel in proper time, Discovery will work with the family to reschedule the party at the next available time for both with no additional fees incurred.
